With three kinds of sparks, Aspenglow was born with sunset sparks, dawn sparks and rose sparks, making her the only spark pony to have more than one type. Aspenglow often goes by the name of Aspen.  Her mark seems to be a distant star, with an aspenglow around it. Her two mysterious stripes found in the front of her hair intrigue many, but it may tie in with her name. Aspenglow refers to the glow on the mountains, and her stripes seem to represent those colors. 

Because of her three spark types, Aspen was thought to be dangerous and was exiled out of the forest to live in Ponyville. The ponies there saw her as a freak and sent her out to the mountains. Out in the freezing cold, her sparks were the only thing that could keep her warm. One day, when the sun rose straight over her, she stared up into it, realizing what those three sparks meant. Flying across the sky, she let the sparks fly off her hooves and decorate the tops of the mountains with a captivating glow. The ponies in Ponyville and the Spark Ponies in the Everfree Forest gazed up at the sight, realizing that Aspenglow had something beautiful inside her - the power of peace, harmony and good will. The years of exile didn't change her harmony with friends and family, and her sparks were soon celebrated in Ponyville and back at the Spark Village.

Aspenglow sometimes has to fight with criminals, protecting both Ponyville and her Village from intruders and dangerous ponies. While she isn't one to physically hurt someone else, she can hypnotize and put to sleep most anypony, as well as cure them of their impurities and let them reach a sense of inner peace.
